Swim Team 2016-17

Swimming Meeting/Sign-up:  Did you watch Michael Phelps race a Great White Shark this past summer during shark week? Do you want to join a sports team? How about joining the Sal Swim Team! There are no tryouts and no competitive swimming experience is required! This is a calling for all swimmers, lifeguards in training, tri-athletes, swimmers looking to get in shape for other sports OR any student who is looking to join a sports team and learn the sport of competitive swimming. Come to the Sal Swim Team information meeting right at the lunch bell on Friday, in room 163 or see Mr. Pandos at any time in room 163 to pick up a permission form. Practices start Thursday, September 7.

Congratulations to the 2015-16 team - these are the highlights:

22 swimmers on the team, 15 made the Metro Swim Final! A great mix of both open and novice swimmers represented Sal Comp at the final.

We are considered a small team. Teams that have 35 swimmers or less are considered small team. So we are even a small team in the small team division! Quality over quantity I guess!

Girls team came 2nd overall (by 8 points!) in the small team division

Boys team came 2nd overall in the small team division

Sal Comp came 2nd overall in the Small Team Total Aggregate

The Sal Comp Swim Team runs from September to the middle of December and we swim Tuesdays and Thursday mornings before school at KLC. We are always looking for experienced and inexperienced swimmers that are looking to participate on a school team and learn the sport of competitive swimming from a coach that swam competitively for about 18 years with Silvertide Swim Club and for the U of A Golden Bears and has coached for the past 15 years.
